5 WAYS YOU’RE BLOCKING YOURSELF FROM LIVING AN INCREDIBLE LIFE

What if I told you there were 5 things you could be doing that are preventing you from living an incredible life? Would you actively work on those to see just how incredible you could make your life? I know I would!

Here are 5 ways you’re blocking yourself from living an incredible life

NOT LEARNING HOW TO CALM YOUR NATURALLY NEGATIVE MIND WITH MINDSET TOOLS

Our brains are naturally programmed for survival – not happiness. So, it makes sense that we are always in survival mode unless we purposely do things that focus on happiness. We can change this script by doing things like journaling, counting our WINs, expressing gratitude daily, finding brags, practicing self-care (or “do you” time), and using mantras.

NOT SETTING HEALTHY BOUNDARIES

Boundaries are limits we decide as a person that we won’t tolerate to protect ourselves. These could be physical, emotional, and mental limits that we establish as boundaries from other people’s thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Sometimes maintaining these boundaries with others can be hard, especially for women. A lot of us have a fear of not being liked by others and these boundaries might not sit well with others.

But we can still create loving boundaries while still staying true to ourselves. Boundaries are really important when we need to limit our interaction with toxic behavior, people, or situations.

DOING THINGS YOU DON’T WANT TO DO BUT ARE DOING ANYWAY

This comes in the form of distractions.

Distractions will run your life if you let them.

Distractions are anything you do to keep yourself from doing the things you really should be doing.

Distractions could be watching tv, eating, drinking, shopping, or scrolling social media just to name a few.

We use these distractions to keep us from dealing with whatever is going on in our head. For example, maybe we don’t want to deal with our emotions, so we distract ourselves with food instead. Or maybe we have low self-esteem, so we shop to make ourselves feel better. There are so many reasons we use distractions. Being aware of the distraction is the first step to breaking this cycle.

Once you’re aware of the distraction, then it’s easier to stop doing the distraction. Awareness is key!

NOT KNOWING HOW TO PROCESS YOUR FEELINGS

Most of us don’t learn how to process our feelings. This has an especially negative impact on our bodies. It shows up in ways such as trying to numb our feelings with food or alcohol. Or in the form of headaches or illnesses. The easiest way to get started is by journaling. This can be so eye-opening and will really allow you to process your feelings in a healthy way.

NOT KNOWING THE “PUZZLE OF YOU” AND LEARNING HOW TO GO AFTER IT

The “puzzle of you” is so specific and so special for each person. It’s your combination of strengths, values, passions, and goals. Knowing your puzzle can even help you figure out your life’s purpose. Once you know this puzzle, you’ll be able to create goals that will help you go after your purpose and your life will feel so full of meaning you’ll want nothing more than to go after it.

By dealing with these 5 potential blocks, you’ll be well on your way to living an incredible life. If you think you need help learning how to get rid of these blocks, I give more hints and tips in my Become an Unstoppable Woman podcast as well as 1:1 coaching.
