I’m loving these throwback interviews here on the Become an Unstoppable Woman podcast. And today I’m so excited to share the first ever interview we had on the show! The guest was Rachel Tenny and we talked all about self-love and body insecurity, which as we all know is an incredibly important topic.
It’s no surprise that as women, we have a hard time loving ourselves and loving our bodies. We live in a society where we are constantly fed messages about how we’re supposed to look and what our breasts and arms and stomachs “should” look like. It’s tough to avoid feeling some sort of body insecurity in this world, especially with social media.
And no matter what we do, the messages don’t stop. If we achieve one goal, there’s always another.
The negativity about our bodies has got to stop.
You should love your body. You should be thankful for your body. Your body is a gift.
Rachel Tenny is someone who, like many others, learned this lesson the hard way. Feeling insecure about her body from a very young age and starting diets and exercise early on in life, she was in a very unhealthy place by the time she started high school.
Thankfully, Rachel had the resources and support system to turn things around for herself. Now, she’s a licensed therapist and artist with a focus on helping women establish healthy relationships with their bodies. Her art and affirmation cards promote body positivity and self-love.
You’re going to love hearing Rachel’s story. It’s unfortunately all too relatable but it’s also incredibly inspiring.
YOU’LL HEAR RACHEL DISCUSS:
- The age she was when she went on her first diet
- What changed for Rachel that allowed her to enjoy food for the first time
- What it means to eat intuitively
- How we can pick what we expose ourselves to to avoid feeling body insecurity
…And so much more.
I hope this episode inspires you to love everything about yourself exactly the way it is. We can’t possibly live a fulfilling life if we don’t love ourselves. You are the most important person in your life.
